Give me a reason why I should stay
When all we talk about is how time flies
I'm not that kind of person, you’d say
You never were too good at telling lies
The hour's late the music's too loud
I told myself I wouldn't drink tonight
I always wanted to make you proud
Despite the desperation, I feel all right
I was a lovesick fool for your face
And now I'm here still thinking of you as mine
Forever searching for the first place
So far away across a sea of time
So this is what I say to you now
This stupid love song is the best I've got
It's all for you, so please take your bow
I hope you think it's good even if it's not

The Ghost

A misty window
Blue-grey, no rain
An empty garden
No life, no pain
We used to live here
So long ago
The memory is fading
And now I don’t know
You anymore
Let me see you again
Like I see you in my dreams
I’m the ghost
I want to make you scream
Nothing living comes here
This house has been dark for years
Occupied by the shadows of time
Who know their places but not their lines
The shutters are falling down
The doorbell makes no sound
A disembodied voice cries out
A whisper becomes a shout
The door flies open but you can’t pull yourself away
And then you hear me say
Let me see you again
Like I see you in my dreams
I’m the ghost
I want to make you scream

Copenhagen

Our man died in a hospice bed
On the far side of the room
Where the couch is now
We all cried and held our heads
We would never be the same
It still hurts to say his name
We knew that the time had come But we couldn't brace ourselves
It didn't work that way
So we sat there in disbelief
And we held our heads
Then went back to bed
Our man left an enormous mark
On everything we've done
And everything we do
His woman had a rougher time
She couldn't see the skies
For the darkness in her eyes
The days were long and the nights were cold
We never did see what we came here for
So we hopped on the first flight back
And prepared the house
For the final attack
Where do good men go?
I hope he's made some friends
I hope he's strong again
I hope he sees us and he knows
I hope he knows we're trying
God knows we're trying
She gave away all the money she could spend
To buy a little time
And maybe peace of mind
But you can't insure a peaceful end
The silence never stalls
Its violence doesn't bend
Things are going at a painful rate
We can't escape
Our worst regrets
So we pick our things and move along
Book another flight
Outrun the night

Open your eyes
Let inside
The person that you want to be
Open your mind
Let that ego fall right off of you
Like a bathrobe
Everybody freaks out
Every once in a while
But you don't really have to be there
You don't really have to see it when they lay you down
Bad dreams
Of death in the woods
Alone and cold and scared
Holding yourself in fear
Tugging at your hair
Everybody freaks out
Every once in a while
But we don't really have to be there
We don't really have to see it when they lay us down

Night March

What you thought was just a minute
Was the day in all your dreams
Don't get up, I'm gone already
I got two tickets, and they've both been good to me
Thank you for the floors you lent me
Could've said I wanted shoes
Nothing in the world can keep me holed up
Nothing, no nothing holds me down like you
Didn't you say that you were worried?
Didn’t you think I might blame you?
Didn't you say that you were busy?
Night march to me, won’t you?
